Another Clarice Cliff ORIGINAL BIZARRE (OB) octagonal sandwich plate, small size.
Art Deco original. Circa 1928.
This attractive early piece is thickly hand-painted and bright with a bold, geometric double-star design in orange, blue and brown, outlined in green and surrounded by a thick orange band around the edge of the plate.
No damage, chips, stains or restoration; some age-related crazing to the plate (see pictures). There is a small factory grind to the rim on this plate which is not damage, but only fair to mention. Reflected in the price.
Stamped Bizarre by Clarice Cliff to the base in the huge, early script back-stamp. Also has an impressed date mark for 1928 (indistinct).
Width of plate is 14cm.
