Another Clarice Cliff TENNIS pattern conical cup & saucer.
Art Deco original, circa 1930. This is NOT a modern reproduction.
This is a very rare pattern, only known from a handful of examples. The Tennis pattern is one of Clarice’s best and most desirable designs and this is an early version of the pattern on a conical cup and saucer.
Superbly decorated in strong colours, right around the cup with stunning banding to the saucer. The cup and saucer are in overall good condition with no chips or cracks, but do have some professional restoration. The restoration has been carried out to a very high standard and is virtually invisible. The restoration is reflected in the starting price. There are also a small area of paint fading to the yellow band on the saucer.
The cup and saucer both carry the Bizarre by Clarice Cliff back-stamp to their bases.
The cup is approximately 6cm high and the saucer is 14cm diameter.
