This is a lovely Bursley Ware cube shape bachelor tea set (teapot, milk, sugar, plate, cup & saucer).
Art Deco original, circa 1930s.
This set is very well decorated and eye-catching with a landscape scene featuring tall, thin trees and poppy-style fowers. The teapot shape was used by Susie Cooper in the early days and may be of interest to collectors of her work.
In overall good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. It does have some crazing in a couple of places, especially to the tepot lid. This doesn’t detract from the appeal of this stylish tea set, but only fair to mention (see pictures).
All pieces are stamped Bursley Ware, England plus a pattern number 2074 to the base of the teapot.
The teapot is approximately 13cm high and the plate is 13cm diameter.
