Clarice Cliff AUTUMN (blue) bon bon dish.
Art Deco original, circa 1932.
Thickly hand-painted and bright in blue, yellow, green, black and orange with a central balloon-trees design to the well of the dish. This dish would, originally, have been part of a bon-bon set with a large handled carrier plate and six individual bon bon dishes (like this one). Complete sets are rare and don’t appear too often.
No chips, damage or restoration, in good condition. The area of darker blue paint on the central tree is under-glaze and would have been present at manufacture, so is not overpainting or restoration.
Stamped Bizarre by Clarice Cliff to the base. Also has a raised shape number of 472.
Width of dish is 9.5cm.
