Clarice Cliff AUTUMN (blue) bon bon dish.
Art Deco original, circa 1932.
Thickly hand-painted and bright in blue, yellow, green, black and orange with a central balloon-trees design to the well of the dish. This dish would, originally, have been part of a bon-bon set with a large handled carrier plate and six individual bon bon dishes (like this one). Complete sets are rare and don’t appear too often.
In generally good condition. There has been a very minor professional restoration to one rim of the dish and a small area of paint refreshing, neither of which detract from the immense appeal of this dish and are virtually invisible; only fair to mention.
Stamped Bizarre by Clarice Cliff to the base. Also has a raised shape number of 472.
Width of dish is 9.5cm.
