Clarice Cliff AUTUMN (Blue) cigarette & match holder/ashtray. Shape 420.
Hand painted, Art Deco original, circa 1931.
A not-often-seen shape, this cigarette and match holder/ashtray would have been the height of sophistication in the 1930s, an era when nearly everyone smoked!
Hand painted right around the piece with Clarice’s ever-popular Autumn (blue) pattern. In good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. There is a little bit of paint wear to the rim of the ashtray, but that does not detract from this very stylish item.
Fully stamped FANTASQUE Bizarre by Clarice Cliff to the base. Also has a Wilkinson’s HONEYGLAZE mark to the base.
Height is 8cm.
