This is a superb Athens shape jug in the rare abstract Football pattern.
The jug dates to 1930 and is a really good example of the design. It shows a full version of the pattern with all 4 panels displaying fully; visually it is perfect!
The colours are bold and bright and it has no damage or restoration. It does have a small underglaze fault on the blue part of the footrim, but that does not detract in any way and it would have left the factory with that.
Carries the Bizarre by Clarice Cliff backstamp to the base.
The jug is 16.5cm high.
