Clarice Cliff GAYDAY pattern tankard shape coffee cup and saucer.
Art Deco original, circa 1929.
Very nicely hand-painted with a good version of the pattern right round the cup and has nice banding on the saucer.
No chips, cracks or restoration. In good, clean condition. Thick honeyglaze to the underside of the saucer. Minor paint ‘frits’ to the cup.
Stamped Bizarre by Clarice Cliff to the base of the cup and the saucer and also has a handwritten Gayday pattern name, plus a date stamp for 1929 to the base of the saucer (indistinct).
The cup is 5cm high. The saucer is 10cm diameter.
