Clarice Cliff MELON (orange) pattern. A large circular plate, radially painted.
Art Deco original, circa 1929.
Hand painted with stylised, abstract fruit in orange, green, yellow, blue and red and surrounded by yellow, lilac and orange banding. A very attractive early piece (of Melon) which is so Art Deco and extremely stylish. These radially-painted versions don’t come up very often and this is a particularly good example. Not to be missed!
In good condition with no chips, cracks or stains. A couple of minor paint ‘frits’.
Plate has the script Fantasque by Clarice Cliff mark to the back and an impressed date stamp for 1929 (indistinct).
The plate is 25cm (10 Inches).
