Clarice Cliff MELON (Orange) pattern large octagonal platter, 32cm x 23cm,
Art Deco original, circa 1930.
In overall good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. There are a few minor paint ‘frits’ here and there.
We are not sure exactly what this large plate would have been originally. Possibly a serving platter or maybe the base of a dressing table set. Unfortunately there isn’t an impressed shape number to the base. However, it is a real statement piece and would make a superb central feature for any Clarice Cliff collection, especially if you collect the Melon pattern. Somewhat of a rarity and not to be missed!
Stamped Fantasque by Clarice Cliff to the base plus an impressed date stamp for 1930.
