Clarice Cliff MELON (orange) pattern. Early Tankard shape coffee can & saucer, circa 1929.
Beautifully decorated right around the cup with this ever-popular pattern and has the early purple and orange banding on the saucer. This is a lovely item. The saucer has an impressed date stamp for 1929.
Both cup and saucer are in good condition with no damage or restoration. A very small paint ‘miss’ to the edge of the saucer which doesn’t detract in any way, but only fair to mention.
Both cup & saucer are stamped with the early Fantasque by Clarice Cliff script backstamp.
Cup is 5cm high and the saucer is 9.5cm across.
