Product Information
This is a Clarice Cliff ORANGE ROOF COTTAGE pattern shape 499 EXTREMELY RARE triangular shape vase!
Art Deco original, circa 1932.
This is a stunning Art Deco piece and possibly one of Clarice Cliff’s rarest shapes. This vase shape is known from only a couple of examples and must have been very hard to fire, hence why so very few left the factory. Decorated with one of Clarice’s signature patterns, you wouldn’t want a more fabulous vase in your collection. Not to be missed.
Condition of the vase is very good with no chips, cracks or stains. It does have a professionally restored internal hairline, which has been expertly carried out and is virtually invisible but only fair to mention.
This vase is famous in it’s own right as it featured on page 111 of Leonard Griffin’s 1999 book Clarice Cliff, The Art of Bizarre.
The base carries the Fantasque, Bizarre by Clarice Cliff back stamp and an impressed shape number of 499.
Vase height is 10.2cm.
