Clarice Cliff ORIGINAL BIZARRE (OB) ashtray.
Circa 1927/1928. Art Deco original.
Thickly hand-painted and bright in orange and green with a central star design to the well of the ashtray.
No damage or restoration, a couple of small paint frits, as is common on this age of pottery.
Stamped Bizarre by Clarice Cliff to the base in gold.
Also has an (indistinct) impressed date mark for 1927 or 1928 and a HAND PAINTED Newport Pottery, England mark.
Width of ash tray is 12cm.
