Clarice Cliff Original Bizarre (OB) shape 17 vase. Rare shape.
Art Deco original, circa 1928.
This is a very stylish vase from the very early days of Clarice’s career as a leading ceramics designer. An old (rare) shape 17 vase which has been thickly hand painted in orange, blue and green with a geometric pattern which wraps around the centre of the vase.
The vase is in a very nice, clean, condition with no cracks or chips. The blue paint is all good with no oxidation. There has been a pin-prick area of paint loss professionally repaired to the top rim of the vase, but that is virtually invisible and doesn’t detract in any way from the appeal of this piece.
The base is stamped Bizarre by Clarice Cliff in gold and has an impressed shape number 17.
The vase is 9 Inches (22.5cm) high.
