Clarice Cliff ORIGINAL BIZARRE (OB) octagonal sandwich plate, small size.
Art Deco original. Circa 1928.
This attractive early piece is thickly hand-painted and bright with a bold, geometric rotating-star pattern in blue, orange and yellow, outlined in green and surrounded by a thick yellow band around the edge of the plate. A very stylish design!
In overall good condition with no damage, chips or stains; some minor paint scuffs/frits. Age-related crazing.
Stamped with the large script Bizarre by Clarice Cliff mark to the base. Also has an impressed date stamp (indistinct).
