Product Information
This is a Clarice Cliff ROOSTER novelty teapot and matching ROOSTER jug (2 items in the lot).
Vintage items, circa 1938.
This novelty teapot is from Clarice’s late ’30s output, but is still a sought-after item by many teapot collectors. It can be seen on page 96 of Leonard Griffin’s Taking Tea with Clarice Cliff book.
The teapot is in very good condition, with no damage or restoration and it has it’s correct lid. It doesn’t, however, have a Clarice Cliff stamp to the base, but I can 100% GUARANTEE that it is a genuine Clarice Cliff item. It does have the correct WILKINSON LTD, ENGLAND back-stamp on it’s base. It is exactly the same shape as the jug in this lot, which does have a Clarice Cliff back-stamp.
The jug is the same shape as the teapot, just without the teapot lid (modified opening). Unfortunately, the jug has been damaged in the past and is A/F (As Found/At Fault) with an old repair to one side (see photos).
Both jug and teapot are 12.5cm high (base to the top of the main body).
These two items are being sold with NO RESERVE – Must sell. Why not grab yourself a Clarice Cliff BARGAIN today?
