Clarice Cliff small size NEWPORT (blue) pattern Biarritz shape side plate.
Art Deco original, circa 1934.
Nicely hand-painted and bright. This is a lovely pattern which is very under-rated in my opinion. Quite a rarity and very stylish.
In overall good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. There is a very small nick/grind out of one corner at the back, which cannot be seen from the front, but only fair to mention (see pictures).
Bizarre by Clarice Cliff mark to the base and an impressed date mark for 1934 (indistinct).
Plate width 16.5cm, plate height is 13.5cm.
