Product Information
Clarice Cliff TENNIS pattern Stamford shape teapot.
Art Deco original, circa 1930. This is NOT a modern reproduction.
This is a very rare teapot, only known from a handful of examples. The Tennis pattern is one of Clarice’s best and most desirable designs and this is an early version of the teapot shape, with the straight spout.
Superbly decorated in strong colours, right around the teapot. It has it’s original lid, which has a small area of professional restoration to one corner. The restoration has been carried out to a very high standard and is virtually invisible. The restoration is reflected in the price. The base of the teapot has no chips, cracks or restoration.
A similar teapot to this one (with the later spout) sold last year at Fieldings Auctioneers for £2,700 hammer (approximately £3,348 including commission)…..so this one is a real bargain. It won’t hang around for long.
The teapot carries the Bizarre by Clarice Cliff back-stamp to it’s base.
The teapot is approximately 12cm from the base to the top of the lid.
Offered on eBay with NO RESERVE and a relatively low starting price.
