Huge Clarice Cliff RED TREES & HOUSE Bowness shape jardiniere.
Art Deco original, circa 1930.
This is a real eye-catching statement piece in a rare variant of a sought-after pattern. The pattern wraps right around the jardiniere multiple times.
In overall good condition with no chips or cracks. It does have restoration to the base and some associated over-painting, which can be seen on the underside of the base and encroaches over the backstamp (which has been re-applied in paint). This doesn’t really detract from this monumental piece, but is only fair to mention and is reflected in the price (a perfect one of these would be best part of £1,000).
Stamped Fantasque by Clarice Cliff in script to the base, plus a gold Lawleys retailer mark.
Height is of the jardiniere is 20cm, diameter is 23cm.
