This is an original Art Deco ceramic Lucky Haw Haw Cat with ‘Meow Meow’ notes to body. ‘Be like me and you will catch on.’ Made by Amphora for the London retailer Max Emmanuel.
Designed by Louis Wain. Circa 1914.
In very good condition, but does have an area of professional restoration to the rim of the opening, above the right back leg. The restoration has been done extremely well and is virtually invisible.
Signed Louis Wain to front. Registration mark, made in England and Max Emanuel marks to base.
These are very rare and don’t show up too often!
The item is 13.25cms high.
These are often collected by Clarice Cliff collectors as they fit in well with her pieces in a display.
