Very Rare Clarice Cliff ‘Mrs Puddleduck’ sandwich tray with jazzy pattern. Circa 1920s.

£695.00

This is a very rare Clarice Cliff ‘Mrs Puddleduck’ sandwich tray (shape 334) with jazzy hand-painted lightning pattern.

Circa late 1920s/very early 1930s (due to the style of the backstamp).

We believe this was produced (possibly as a special order) for a well known pottery retailer in Argentina.(Rodolfo Eisler). It may even have been used as a shop display? We just don’t know, but it is a rarity!

Back stamped with the early rubber stamp Bizarre by Clarice Cliff mark. The tray is 29.5cm long and 15cm across. The duck is 14cm high.

There is no damage or restoration and the paintwork is still bright and vibrant. There is some minor age-related crazing to the underside of the plate.

Not to be missed!
